Iron Candle Holder (for 14–17cm candles)

Handcrafted in Uchiko town, Ehime, by blacksmith studio Jizai Koubou, this iron candle holder is specially designed for Omori Warosoku’s traditional Japanese candles (7 to 12 cm).
Each piece is forged from a single rod of steel using traditional techniques - heating, hammering, flattening, and hand bending. Unlike mass-produced items, this holder carries the warmth and character of true handmade craft.
Its gently curved form adds a surprising softness to solid steel, developing a rich patina with use.

Keeping the Light Beautiful
Warosoku candles leave behind a carbonised wick as they burn. To maintain a clean, steady flame, use a wick trimmer to gently remove the excess wick—leaving about 1–2cm at the base.
This small step helps your candle burn more beautifully.
Watch the first video to see how it’s done.

Gently Snuffing the Flame
Using a wick trimmer or a pair of tweezers, gently pinch the base of the remaining wick.
This helps extinguish the flame without creating smoke.
Watch the second video for a step-by-step demonstration.

Warosoku - Japanese Candle
Warosoku are traditional Japanese candles made using natural materials and time-honoured techniques passed down for generations.
Each candle is carefully crafted by hand, starting with a wick made from washi paper and reed, then layered with wax from the haze tree. This slow, thoughtful process gives the candles their signature gentle flame and soft, flicker-free glow. Every candle reflects patience, care, and a deep respect for nature and tradition.
