This 90cm furoshiki features the Hitta Kiku motif, created by transforming Hitta, a traditional shibori technique, into a repeating pattern resembling the layered petals of chrysanthemum flowers.

Since ancient times, the chrysanthemum has been treasured in Japan as a plant believed to hold sacred and medicinal qualities, and is widely regarded as a symbol of health and longevity. This design carries the wish for lasting well-being and a long, healthy life.

Each furoshiki is hand-dyed using traditional katazome techniques in Kyoto, where textile making has continued for over 110 years. Skilled artisans carefully dye each piece by hand, one by one, preserving time-honoured methods passed down through generations.

Beautiful and meaningful, this furoshiki is suitable for wrapping, carrying, or gifting, and can also be enjoyed as a decorative textile in the home.
